Evening and Weekend Appointments

Urgent same day evening and weekend appointments are available at the Merton GP Hubs.

To get an appointment at a hub you will need to book in advance through your GP practice or call 111.

General Information

All surgery consultations are by appointment and are for ONE PATIENT ONLY.

Most appointments are only made 72 hours before the allotted time i.e. Monday for Thursday. This enables us to ensure you obtain an appointment quickly.

Routine appointments are available MONDAY TO SATURDAY.

Please be punctual for your appointment and report to the receptionist on arrival. If you are more than 15 minutes late it is likely the medical staff will refuse to see you, so allow for traffic and public transport problems.

Do not expect the Doctor to see other members of your family at the same time, as this cannot be achieved in the allotted appointment time. It also causes delays for other patients with appointments. If more than one member of your family wishes to be seen, please make a separate appointment for each person.

It is not always possible to see the same doctor but all current patient records are available to all doctors to ensure continuity of care.

Telephone Consultations

If there are no face to face contact or telephone appointments left the receptionist will ask you some questions and the 'Doctor on Call' will telephone you and either give you advice over the phone or ask you to come to the surgery at an appropriate time.

Telephone appointments are only available during surgery hours.

Advice is also available from the NHS 111 service by calling 111 from your landline or mobile phone.

Free Text Reminders

This service reminds you of an appointment via a text message. All registered patients are automatically opted into the service.

Please ensure if you wish to use this service we have your correct mobile telephone number and inform us as soon as possible if your number changes.

If you do not wish to subscribe please contact the surgery and inform reception that you wish to opt out.

Chaperones

If you anticipate that you may require an examination by the Doctor and feel that you would like a chaperone to be present, please make reception aware at the time of booking your appointment so that this can be arranged. Alternatively bring along a member of your family or friend to your appointment.

Hospital Transport for Appointments

If you are disabled and cannot get out of the house without difficulty we are able to arrange transport for hospital appointments.

Arrange transport for hospital appointments. This has to he approved by the doctor. it is very limited. When you receive your appointment date please telephone the receptionist to arrange transport. This must be at least 48 hours before the visit is due to enable the ambulance service to utilise their limited resources.

If you have a Friend or relative who can take you obviously this is preferred as the ambulance has to go to several addresses before getting you to the hospital.

They start collecting Patients at 8.30am in the morning and 12.30pm for the afternoon.

Cancelling an Appointment

If you are unable to attend for your appointment please tell us in good time so that we are able to offer another patient the use of that appointment.

You can use one of the following methods:

  3. By Fax: Please send us a fax on 0208 646 4862.
  4. In Person: Call into your surgery and let the receptionist know in person.

We can offer your appointment to someone else and therefore help to reduce waiting times.

As part of our commitment to all our patients we monitor the efficient use of appointments. If a patient regularly fails to attend a booked appointment, the practice reserves the right to remove them and their family from the practice list.
